My name is Prodan Tanev and I have 40 years of experience in making products and objects from wood. I graduated from an arts and crafts school with a degree in woodworking and woodcarving, and carving has been my passion ever since.
When making the carving, I use many different carving tools, in a traditional way like the masters of the Renaissance. I combine the traditional methods and techniques of wood carving with the use of modern wood preservation materials such as eco-dyes, pigment varnishes, patina and gilding, which are of high quality and durability.
My preferred carving materials, depending on the intended use of the product, are mahogany, pine and cedar. When executing private orders, the choice of wood, eco-paints and gilding is at the customer’s request.
